For a large number of vehicle models on the market, the maximum speed is limited at a certain value.
A corresponding limitation has different reasons, which is why the amount of the respective reduction can also differ.
In the 1980s, for example, German car manufacturers voluntarily agreed to limit the top speed of high-performance vehicles to 250 km/h.
In addition, for safety reasons, there are also limits at significantly lower speeds, for example for vans or very small vehicles such as the smart fortwo.
Marketing decisions in order to achieve a „differentiation“ from more powerful variants of a manufacturer can also be a reason.
These manufacturer’s restrictions can be lifted by us or adapted individually, i.e. according to your specifications respectively in accordance with our parts certificates.
Note: In the above-mentioned context, please take into account the legal regulations and the fact that tyres with a higher speed index may have to be used.
