Chiptuning

At the end of the 1980s, electronic engine controls in petrol and diesel vehicles became increasingly important.

Parallel to the aforementioned development, especially with the increased emergence of turbo diesel engines, the topic of software adaptation became more and more popular.

In the early days, the data was still stored in corresponding memory chips, which is how the commonly used term “chip tuning” was derived.

Nowadays, the majority of vehicles are “supercharged” by downsizing, i.e. lower engine capacity at the same power level, and thus have a corresponding potential for chip tuning.

The basic procedure has not changed up to the present day, so the necessary or performance-relevant parameters are changed on the basis of the read-out data.

For turbo petrol engines, for example, the table values (maps) for the boost pressure, ignition, fuel injection and a multitude of other parameters are redefined.

The development work required for this is carried out by us without exception on the test bench and additionally tested under real conditions.

In connection with the measures described above, however, the stability of the drive components is always in the foreground.

For example, the so-called component protection of the manufacturer remains untouched, which means that all motor protection functions are still guaranteed.

The result of our programming is a significant increase in performance without completely eliminating the manufacturer’s safety reserves.

In addition, our modifications enable a more economical driving style, so that in certain operating conditions even a reduction in consumption is possible.

Take advantage of our more than 30 years of experience and “experience” the many advantages of our individual software optimisation.
